The Shimano Ultegra ST-6870 is an electronic dual-control lever designed for 11-speed road bikes using Shimano’s Di2 system. This left shifter combines braking and gear selection in one lever, featuring low-profile hoods with a slimmer profile than the previous 6770 generation and improved ergonomics shared with the flagship Dura-Ace line. The lever uses E-Tube wiring technology, which simplifies cable routing and allows for satellite shifter placement on the drops or tops of the bars. Shifting requires only 2mm of button movement and a light touch—a significant advantage for cyclists with hand fatigue issues, carpal tunnel, or arthritis. The reach adjustment accommodates different hand sizes.
